Medical Assistant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Cardiovascular Clinic on the Bossier campus. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician's office under the supervision of the Clinic Physician. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: assessing the health status of patients and collaborating with the nursing staff and physician to establish care procedures; contributing to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions; medication administration for oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal; assist patients with activities of daily living; document patient assessment; communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition to other members of the health care team; and provides information to patient/family regarding disease process or diagnostic procedures. A Louisiana license is a requirement for this position and previous clinical experience is preferred.
