Medical Assistant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Willis Knighton Health is looking for a medical assistant with experience to work in a fast-paced Internal Medicine clinic. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, critical thinking and organizational skills. They will need to be able to do multitasks, be flexible and have attention to detail. The medical assistant will need to have strong communication skills and be knowledgeable on the computer. The job responsibilities include but not limited to: assessing the health status of the patient, triaging, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, administration of medications, vaccines. The job will include answering and returning phone calls, scheduling tests and procedures, working with insurance companies and pharmacies for pre-authorization of tests, procedures and medications. Knowledgeable of Covid, flu, and strep swaps, able to work with blood glucose machines, hospital and departmental orientation will be provided upon completion of the hiring process, as well as training in the enterprise-wide management system. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5:00pm
