Details
Essential Job Duties:
1. Oversees total operation of running office, which includes the following:- Shows an understanding of the implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
- Oversees safety and security regulations at location.
- Assures office grounds are maintained appropriately.
- Performs all co-worker evaluations, clerical and clinical, within the prescribed timeframe outlined in Performance evaluation and competency assessment policies.
- Oversees that all co-workers complete their job duties.
- Interviews candidates for job openings.
- Prepares requests for additional help to the Director of Patient Care and Practice Integration.
- Resolves co-worker issues or conflicts.
- Receives patient complaints and resolves the same.
- Reviews fee schedules with physicians.
- Approves co-worker payroll information.
- Approves time off requests.
- Keeps attendance controllers.
- Sorts mail, routes to the proper person/answers when required.
- Keeps documentation of employee actions as needed.
- Keeps a list of doctors' licenses, DEA, State Controlled Substance, and Malpractice Insurance current.
- Prepares the doctor's in and out schedules, distributes to appropriate locations; i.e. Hospital, nursing home, clinic.
- Answers phones when necessary.
- Assists with insurance and billing questions.
- Assures that appropriate write-offs have been taken (if applicable).
- Develops new forms; orders printed forms.
- Oversees ordering of supplies and equipment.
- Oversees cleaning and maintenance service.
- Conducts staff meetings on a monthly basis, keeping co-workers apprised of Medical Group operations.
- Conducts Physician meeting on a monthly basis.
3. Receives co-worker calls; i.e. absence, late, sick.
4. Represents co-workers at Medical Group meetings.
5. Submits annual operation and capital budget.
6. Schedules doctors’ time for meetings.
7. Assures sufficient office coverage at all times.
8. Is competent in insurance rules and regulations.
9. Clinic representative to the public.
10. Is able to manage independently.
11. Research any new procedures which doctors request.
12. Is accessible to all co-workers for their needs
13. Attends called meetings; i.e. Billing, Management, Practice Manager.
14. Participates on committees assigned or as volunteer.
15. Oversees laboratory rules are followed with the help of the Lab Manager.
16. Keeps the Director of Patient Care and Practice Integration informed of office operations and personnel.
17. Produces requested information for management in timely manner.
19. Secures PRN nurse for doctor.
20. Completes referral forms on all patients as needed.
21. Reviews medical record releases prior to copying.
22. Audits outstanding accounts as needed.
23. Promotes team atmosphere.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care or related field.
2. At least 3 years of management experience in a medical practice.
3. Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communications.
4. Must be skilled in medical practice and terminology.
5. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-pace stressful environment.
6. Must be able to supervise both medical and clerical co-workers.
7. Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
8. Must be able to work well under pressure.
9. Must have flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Clinic.
10.Must have exceptional follow-up skills.Graduated from an accredited nursing program
License/Certification:
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Must have active IN RN license
