The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The Field Training Officer is responsible for the training and development of new emergency medical technicians, Paramedics, and Registered Nurses, and Dispatchers within the Mobile Health system,
The FTO will be responsible for supervising, orienting, training, and providing daily feedback to new employees during assigned training shifts,
Additionally, the FTO is responsible for performing the roles of EMT, Paramedic, or RN, Dispatcher as per the applicable job description and level of credentialing,
The FTO will be responsible for completing daily observation reports aligned with current documentation policies and procedures,
Conducts self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner always
Interact professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel and other healthcare providers and members of the public
Capable of communicating clearly, effectively, professionally, and in the English language via written and verbal means
Do not support or allow rumors to prosper among MH personnel,
sensitive discussions between supervisors, Tour Chiefs, and EMS Administration should be done in private,
Sleeping-on-duty is strictly prohibited by any on-duty field staff, however, if forced to work 12 hours beyond their regularly scheduled shift, due to emergency coverage or adverse weather emergencies, a brief rest period will be granted
Significant Issues or concerns, that are time sensitive, should be reported to the on-duty Tour Chief/Supervisor as soon as possible
Responsible for maintenance of required certifications in accordance with RWJBH policies and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations
Serves as a mentor, role model, and educational resource for fellow employees
Responsible for providing training and reviewing daily feedback via Daily Observation Report and ensure that the feedback is accurate,
Completes all shift PCRs according to the Shift Paperwork and QA Policies and Procedures
Completes Daily Observation Reports utilizing the Standard Evaluation Guidelines,
DORs are to be submitted by end of shift unless extension is required,
The FTEP Coordinator/Manager must be notified/approved, and an additional twenty-four hours will be granted
The FTOS is responsible for ensuring that all hospital and department policies and procedures are followed
The FTO may assist in New Hire Orientation under the direction of the FTEP/Clinical Coordinator/Manager,
Responsible for providing training to the new employees utilizing the phase guide and phase guide check list,
Attends Quarterly FTO Meetings and attends required Annual EMS competency sessions
Education
Minimum
High School Graduate or GED
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's Degree preferred,
Work Experience
Minimum
Minimum 2 year in department
Preferred
3- 5 years in Department
Certification
Minimum
EMT, Paramedic,Dispatcher, or RN licensure as well as other requirements as described in respective job descriptions,
NEMSMA Basic Field Training Officer Course must be completed within six months of hire date
