LPN - Physcian Practice at Ashtabula County Medical Center – Ashtabula, Ohio

The role of the LPN is integral in our delivery of world class patient care. Responsible for clinically and clerically supporting the physician and other staff members in the delivery of quality patient care, following established standards and procedures. Provides quality clinical care to our patients in various locations as assigned. Assists practitioner with patient care in an efficient and professional manner. Screens health status of the patient under the direction of the physician. Triages patient phone calls. Documents medical information accurately and appropriately. Understands front office procedures. Ensures regulatory compliance. Maintains clinical equipment and supplies. Maintains professional accountability and responsibility. Provides age appropriate care. Adheres to organizational policy and procedure.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Completion from an accredited School of Practical Nursing.

Required Length and Type of Experience

• Minimum of one year experience as a LPN in a primary care office, hospital; or urgent care center preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer interaction skills.

Required Licensure or Certification

• Current Ohio Nursing License, certified to dispense drugs. Current BLS certification required to be obtained during orientation.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

• Sitting, standing, ability to utilize keyboard, lifting, stooping, flexible scheduling and adaptable to changing environment. Sitting, standing, ability to utilize keyboard, lifting, stooping, flexible scheduling and adaptable to changing environment. Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires walking and standing for extensive periods of time. Requires hearing and vision corrected to normal range. May require some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
