About This Position

This is an Administrator management role which is responsible for providing strategic direction, integration leadership and end-to-end operational support to the talent life cycle of Talent management processes for the college – inclusive of Talent Acquisition, on-boarding, talent development, talent planning and other related work. In addition to providing leadership to the team of managers of professionals that directly manage these key functional areas – this role is responsible for partnering with the Head of HR and other directors on delivering MCC HR strategies and enhancing overall employee experience within the college. It is likewise responsible for enabling end-to-end talent process linkage through internal collaboration, process renovation, and technology implementation. This positions serves the purpose of supporting and empowering the total Talent team and developing an integrated, end-to-end perspective of the various talent processes to elevate the value of Talent for the college.
  • Develop and implement talent management strategies, initiatives and programs that support the recruitment, development, performance and retention of our valued employees and critical workforce teams
  • Provide organizational and talent management, practice leadership to key talent areas, support and empower Talent leaders and their teams in streamlining, evolving and advocating for their enterprise processes, both from an integrative and positive growth oriented employee experience standpoint
  • Develop, garner input and implement a comprehensive talent management framework that can represent a roadmap for managing talent across the employee life cycle
  • In partnership with HR leadership, team and potential organizational peers identify key goals and metrics to assess progress in building talent management capabilities (over time) across the organization
  • Determine key talent management process pilots, target areas and key timing for smart start implementation as well as key learnings to indicate approach to scaling newer processes across the organization
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders and HR team members to identify and/or develop internal programs to help accelerate the onboarding, professional growth and leadership readiness of key talent in and across the college
  • Partner with mid and senior leadership in developing talent management strategies that enable organizational performance, support organizational change and that align with MCC’s strategic plan and people priorities
  • Stay acutely aware of industry trends and best practices in talent management and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervising and leading teams
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in talent management of related HR field
  • Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience working in higher education or matrix organization environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or above in business, HR or related professional field
  • Certification in Human Resources (SHRM-CP/ SCP, PHR/ SPHR), etc.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing talent management strategies and initiatives
  • Previous experience working with senior leaders and executives to drive talent management initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to manage and lead workforce or talent-related change initiatives within an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong workforce or talent-based analytical skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into talent management insights and decisions
  • Exceptional organizational, priority-management and project management skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of talent management

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity and walking. The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
