Valley Fine Foods is currently seeking Dishroom Sanitation Lead candidates to join our team—one for the AM shift and one for the PM shift.

Objective: The Dishroom Sanitation Crew Leader is responsible for overseeing daily sanitation activities in the dishroom at our Benicia production facility. This role ensures that all trays, silicone molds, utensils, and tools used in the preparation of handheld meals, including egg bites, potato bakes, and other products—are properly cleaned, sanitized, and organized. This role leads the dishroom team to meet strict food safety and sanitation standards while supporting production schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Supervise and train dishroom sanitation associates to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor performance to ensure proper sanitation of trays, molds, utensils, and other production tools.
  • Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain a continuous supply of clean equipment and meet production demands.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dishroom sanitation staff during the shift.

Train and certify team members on the safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and documentation requirements.

Sanitation Operations:

  • Operate dishwashing and sanitizing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure team members inspect cleaned equipment for residue, damage, or contamination.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the dishroom, including organization and separation of clean and dirty tools.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Enforce hygiene, safety, and sanitation policies across all dishroom operations.
  • Conduct spot checks to ensure equipment is cleaned according to established standards.
  • Maintain and review sanitation logs and report deviations to the Sanitation Supervisor.

Safety:

  • Ensure all team members are trained in and adhere to safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE (gloves, aprons, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Participate in safety trainings
  • Monitor dishroom for slip or trip hazards and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to team members and assist in corrective coaching as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage planning for dishroom team.
  • Fill in as needed for sanitation associates during absences or high-demand periods.
  • Support cross-training efforts and team development.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or sanitation preferred but not required; training provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Must follow strict hygiene and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Comfortable working in hot, wet, and/or humid conditions for extended periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
