Position Summary

The Physician provides high quality, patient-focused health care services to all patients in collaboration with the other staff members to ensure that the individually planned needs and desires of patients are met, regardless of age or gender, on a continuing basis by performing the duties outlined below. The Physician abides by the standards and laws governing the practice of medicine as established by the State Board of Medical Examiners and State Professional and Occupational Standards. It is the obligation of each Physician to ensure that their supervisory requirements of Advanced Practice Clinicians are adhered to. It is also the Physician’s obligation to be sure that the relationship of and access to the clinician is defined, and that a process for evaluation is established. It is the obligation of each Physician to remain current with required continuing medical education, BLS certification and licensure. Education

Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine - Required Experience

Current State Medical License; CDS Controlled Substance License as applicable per prescriptive authority; DEA Drug Enforcement Agency Registration Number as applicable per prescriptive authority - Required Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Preferred for Full Time Physicians Core Job Functions

Adheres to guidelines as established by the Company policy and procedure manuals while maintaining appropriate clinical standards of care. Thoroughly evaluates patients by clinical interview, history, physical examination and interpretation of applicable tests to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient-focused healthcare. Aides the patients in their right to be informed and to participate in making decisions in all aspects of their medical care and treatment plan while respecting their personal values and beliefs. Actively promotes health and disease prevention by educating both the patient and family. Providing patient and family instruction based on individualized patient needs. Orders and reviews necessary tests, analyses, results and diagnostic images in a timely manner to determine appropriate treatment and follow up. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications appropriate for patient age and condition. Promotes health by educational instruction as well as advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Refers patients to medical specialist, consultant services or emergency department when necessary for patient’s well-being. Accurately, efficiently, and completely documents necessary data for patient records to facilitate completion of billing processes. Submits all entries in medical record including both electronic or paper, in a legible and complete manner with date, time and signed with appropriate credentials. Documentation will be completed prior to discharge from the facility when possible but no later than 48 hours after discharge from the facility. Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources of the Company in a prudent and efficient manner. Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines. Participates in Peer Review and Chart Audit processes as designated by the Medical Director. Maintains supervisory duties over staff as required. Maintains competency in skills relevant to the scope of services provided in the facility. The scope of services in specific markets will require employees to complete relevant training and to obtain additional certifications or licensure. (DOT Certification, Occupational Medicine Certification, Dispensing Permits, Telemedicine permits, etc.) Other duties as needed.
