Our optical lab is looking for a Production Manager to complete our first shift team!

Position Requirements
This position requires at least 5 years’ experience in management within a digital optical laboratory and strong leadership skills. This is a first shift position with core hours being between 7:30am-4:00pm. Salary will be based on relevant experience.
Essential Functions
- Provide service and solutions to customers who may have questions or are upset about any issues.
- Must know and be able to perform all positions within the department.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with appropriate vendors and order supplies as needed.
- Confirm delivery of supplies and approve invoices.
- Set up goals for all production jobs with the operation director and report daily with these results.
- Ensure employees are following work instructions for all production jobs.
- Set up and maintain process controls that lab manager and operations direction will establish.
- Analyze workspace and use lean manufacturing techniques to establish a good physical workflow.
- Develop and maintain an organized and clean working environment in all areas from customer service to shipping department. This will include storage areas and maintenance departments.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all OSHA, federal, state, local and company safety requirements for lab operations including (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment and (MSDS) Material Safety Data Sheets.
Management Responsibilities
- Must have leadership qualities in order to directly supervise lab supervisor and technicians and carry out those responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws as well as setting a standard of conduct through examples and actions.
- Maintains lab staff by selecting and ensuring training and orienting of employees.
- Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work for lab staff to ensure smooth, efficient workflow.
- Monitor progress of lab staff and resolve routine problems conduct staff meetings, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, scheduling or approving paid time off as needed and assisting with payroll.
- Will be the first point of contact for the Lab Supervisors and Management.
- Be a hands-on manager who is actively involved with staff, leads by example and keeps employees positive and motivated.
Work Environment
This position is located in our Optical Laboratory and operates in a production/manufacturing type setting. The temperature can sometimes be warm, and the noise level can be somewhat loud. This position requires supervising and working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
