Activity Assistant in Buffalo, Missouri at Citizens Memorial

Citizens Memorial Healthcare Foundation (CMH) is recruiting an Activity Assistant to care for our residents at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the area: Colonial Springs Healthcare Center is located in beautiful Buffalo, Missouri. Buffalo has multiple outdoor experiences such as hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing. Buffalo is a great community that offers small town charm and friendly reasonably priced neighborhoods with an excellent school system and Dallas County Technical Institute available for students pursuing vocational jobs.

About the facility: Colonial Springs Healthcare Center is a 134-bed long-term care, skilled nursing center. It includes a 34-bed memory care unit, as well as a 16-bed high-functioning memory care unit. These units meet the specific needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

A typical day includes: Charting the daily activities the residents have participated in. Facilitating resident activities throughout the day. Aiding the Activities Director in planning activities and events for the facility. Periodically taking pictures during events for social media.

• Contacting volunteers and setting up entertainment
• Leading activities assigned by the Director of Activities
• Documenting daily attendance and participation of each resident
• Assisting residents to and from each activity as needed

Job Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: Education preferred, customer service, long term care preferred
• Skills: Communication, outgoing, creative, computer skills
• Licensure/Certification: Full CPR within 6 months of employment
• Physical: Ability to stand for 60% of the day and sitting with residents for the remaining 40%
