Position Overview
The Head of Investor Relations will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team to build and execute a proactive, best-in-class investor relations strategy as Korsana. This leader will articulate the company’s scientific and clinical strategy to the investment community, frequently serving as a credible stand-in for the CEO and Chief Medical Officer in external interactions. The Head of Investor Relations will establish and manage relationships with leading biotechnology-focused investors and analysts and serve as the company’s primary spokesperson and strategic advisor on investor positioning, disclosure, and perception. This role will also oversee external communications and public relations until a dedicated communications function is established and will require a sophisticated ability to translate complex scientific and clinical concepts into clear, compelling, and differentiated investment messaging.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and execute a comprehensive investor relations and financial communications strategy in close partnership with the CEO and executive leadership team from stealth stage through IPO.
- Collaborate with leadership on public readiness, including messaging, investor targeting, roadshow preparation, and ongoing communications strategy. Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and wider leadership team on matters involving public disclosure, investor communications, and the potential market impact of clinical, scientific, and business developments.
- Serve as a credible spokesperson for Korsana’s scientific strategy, clinical hypotheses, trial design, and development plans, frequently acting as a proxy for the CEO and Chief Medical Officer in investor and analyst discussions.
- Ensure investors and analysts have a clear, accurate understanding of Korsana’s approach to neurology and neurodegenerative disease treatment development, including mechanism of action, differentiation, risk factors, and clinical milestones. Anticipate and prepare leadership for sophisticated scientific and clinical questions from investors, analysts, and other external stakeholders.
- Serve as Korsana’s primary spokesperson and information conduit to the investment community, responding to external inquiries in an accurate, appropriate, and timely manner; establish and maintain strong, trusted relationships with biotechnology-focused buy-side and sell-side analysts and institutional investors.
- Manage the investor relations calendar; lead the development and execution of non-deal roadshows, investor conferences, and corporate access activities, optimizing management time and effectiveness.
- Lead the development, design, writing, and coordination of all investor-facing materials, including: IPO and pre-IPO investor presentations, scientific and clinical overview materials, and earnings scripts, press releases, and supporting disclosures.
- Establish a best-in-class investor relations infrastructure in collaboration with Finance and FP&A, including disclosure processes, investor tracking and targeting systems, and competitive intelligence capabilities.
- Monitor macroeconomic, capital markets, and biotechnology industry trends; track and analyze sell-side models, peer performance, valuation frameworks, and competitive clinical developments, and share actionable feedback with the executive leadership team.
- Oversee public relations and external corporate communications activities prior to the hiring of a dedicated communications leader, ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant messaging across investor, media, and stakeholder audiences.
- Act as a trusted internal advisor to senior leadership, providing coaching and guidance on investor messaging, presentation effectiveness, and external communications. Build a culture of excellence around investor and executive communications, including preparation, rehearsal, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- The Head of Investor Relations will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative biotechnology environment. This individual will combine investor relations expertise with scientific and clinical fluency, and will be comfortable representing the company at the highest levels with sophisticated healthcare investors.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or MS in a life sciences, biotechnology, or finance-related discipline) preferred.
- A proven track record of success in investor relations, including the development and execution of strategic, proactive IR programs that deliver measurable results.
- Deep understanding of biotechnology investing, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific, clinical, and financial information to investors and management.
- Experience working closely with C-suite executives, including accompanying leadership to investor conferences and leading preparation for events such as analyst days.
- Experience supporting or leading IPO-related investor relations activities is strongly preferred.

- The ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with senior executives, investors, and analysts.
- Confidence and authority serving as a stand-in for the CEO and senior leadership in investor and analyst interactions.
- Hands-on experience managing a highly proactive external communications strategy, with a reputation for integrity, transparency, and sound judgment, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately with a defensive communications strategy, as needed.
- Strong credibility discussing clinical development strategy, trial design, and scientific hypotheses; a technical or scientific background is highly beneficial.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and executive presence skills.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee investor relations alongside public relations and external corporate communications in a pre-IPO or high-growth biotechnology environment, ensuring consistent, disciplined messaging across stakeholders.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $300,000–$375,000. This role may also be eligible for a target annual bonus and equity-based compensation, as well as participation in the company’s benefit programs. Actual compensation will depend on offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
