About This Position
YWCA Dayton, a 24-hour organization dedicated to the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. As an Exempt-Salaried position, the PSH Case Manager reports to the Vice President of Programs and is passionate about “Making a Difference” in the lives of all within our community.
This position is mission oriented and expected to work 40 hours primarily 1st shift with at least one shift of 12-8 PM or 1-9 PM. This position is responsible for assuring that treatment plans and related supportive services will be provided to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as well as residents of YWCA housing programs. This person supports the mission, vision, and values of YWCA Dayton.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Case Manager is responsible for completing assessments of clients and residents; providing interventions and perform crisis stabilization techniques to aid client safety; assessing, orient and facilitate the entry of shelter clients and housing residents; developing a treatment plan, including identifying existing problems and barriers, setting goals and developing an action plan; coordinating and make referrals to appropriate providers and resources; providing all other case management and follow-up services for clients/residents; maintaining accurate and on-going documentation in individual client files via electronic record-keeping software, forms and reports following contract requirements, agency and department policies and procedures; respond to client/ resident emergencies during work hours; attend agency and department meetings; attend interagency and networking meetings as appropriate; and perform other tasks as assigned and required by program goals and objectives.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:- Effective Communication: High-level written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to relate to diverse groups and stakeholders; demonstrated interpersonal savviness with strong moral and ethical values towards the mission of the organization.
- Mission Understanding: Demonstrated ability to drive vision and purpose with an understanding and commitment to YWCA USA and YWCA Dayton's mission, vision, history, and programs, demonstrated core values.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability in handling emergent situations, knowledge and understanding domestic violence, homelessness and crisis intervention; must show sensitivity to the needs of individuals, children and families with trauma, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as good computer skills.
- Minimum of 4 years crisis intervention, domestic violence, social work, mental health, human services experience; bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Mental Health, Counseling or related field; 6 plus years crisis intervention, domestic violence, social work experience in lieu of degree.
