Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Quality Assurance Consultant in Baltimore, Maryland. The Quality Assurance Consultant oversees the operational quality aspects of their assigned area within the company. Responsibilities include developing and ensuring quality systems and procedures for their assigned area are being followed via auditing functions, providing support to interdepartmental operations, addressing any quality-related issues associated with their area, and working along with the Quality Technician to root cause/ countermeasure internal and external defects.

Seeking candidates with a minimum four years of experience in quality engineering or related role; Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, preferred; Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus.

Requirements for the Quality Assurance Consultant position include:

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience in conducting audits and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Requires ability to move between projects as priorities change.
  • Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical requirements must be met for the Quality Assurance Consultant job, include regularly being required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and /or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $85,000 - $125,000 annually

Actual base salary may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs (e.g., discretionary or non-discretionary plans), as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
