About This Position

Clinical Lead Therapist -LMHC/LMFT/LCSW

Thriving Center of Psychology (https://mythrivingcenter.com/) is a group practice with psychologists, psychiatrists, and independently licensed mental health professionals. We are committed to delivering evidence-based treatments and maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. At Thriving Center, we recognize that exceptional client outcomes are achieved through supporting our clinicians' professional growth and well-being. Our collaborative team values community, culture, and integrated care delivery, contributing to our recognition as one of the top private practices in the country.

We’re excited to offer an opportunity to become a Clinical Lead Therapist! This role is designed for clinicians who are energized for growth and interested in developing their leadership skills while continuing to provide high-quality client care. As a Clinical Lead Therapist, you’ll play an important role in supporting your peers, helping strengthen collaboration within your small group pod, and contributing to the continued growth of our clinical community.

The Clinical Lead Therapist serves as your pod's first point of contact, peer mentor, and quality champion. This isn't a traditional manager role. You'll maintain your own caseload while helping your pod show up for clients and for each other at the highest level. If you're the person your colleagues already come to for guidance, and you're ready to make that official, this role was built for you.

Core Skills Required:
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical documentation requirements

  • Strong understanding of EHR systems

  • Proven ability to provide peer support, consultation, and informal mentorship.

  • Deep understanding and utilization of Evidence-Based Practices.
  • High degree of personal accountability and responsiveness.

  • Comfort in navigating changing environments in growing companies.

  • Ability to hold clinical standards diplomatically. You'll need to have direct conversations with peers when expectations aren't met.

  • Proficiency with the technology stack used across the practice (EHR, communication tools, scheduling systems).

  • Deep familiarity with Thriving Center's vision, values, and clinical standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an Active Caseload — Provide direct client care while fulfilling pod leadership duties, modeling the clinical standards expected of all pod members.

  • Clinical Care Quality Oversight — Serve as the first-line resource for clinical questions, complex cases, and client escalations within the clinical pod; reinforce evidence-based practice and flag concerns to leadership proactively.

  • Documentation Compliance — Monitor therapists' documentation (session notes, treatment plans, progress summaries) for timeliness and quality; address gaps directly before escalation is needed.

  • Schedule & Caseload Management — Oversee pod members' schedules for gaps, no-show patterns, and caseload imbalances; surface capacity concerns or early burnout indicators to leadership.

  • Provider Support & Retention — Foster psychological safety and a sense of belonging within the pod; serve as a trusted peer resource and recognize contributions to sustain engagement and reduce turnover.

  • Culture & Values Leadership — Actively embody Thriving Center's values and clinical culture.

  • Onboarding Participation — Support the integration of new therapists through warm introductions, early check-ins, EHR orientation, and workflow familiarization.

  • Communication & Responsiveness — Maintain consistent, timely communication with clinical pod members and leadership; serve as a reliable conduit surfacing themes and patterns.

  • Leadership Collaboration — Partner with the Clinical Manager and Director of Clinical Operations on quality initiatives, SOP development, and pod structure improvements; attend leadership and pod leader cohort meetings.

  • On-Call Coverage — Provide on-call support after regular business hours as needed to support clinical care.
  • Cross-Country Support — Ability to support providers that work in Pacific, Central and Eastern time zones as needed.
  • Other Duties as Assigned — Adapt to evolving business needs in a growing practice.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field

  • Active independent licensure in New York (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience

  • Prior experience in a supervisory, lead clinician, or peer consultation role

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong caseload while taking on additional responsibilities

  • Preferred experience in an outpatient private practice setting, in performing 45-60 min. sessions
