Consumer Loan Advisor at ARLINGTON COMMUNITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION – FALLS CHURCH, Virginia

Position Overview

We are actively recruiting for a Consumer Loan Advisor to serve as the primary selling agent for Credit Union loan products and services to members. In this role, you will be responsible for providing quality member service, establishing and maintaining a financial advisory relationship with each member, and regularly meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for interviewing members, processing consumer loan applications, disbursing consumer loans, and maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or GED; two to four years of similar or related experience.

Previous Credit Union or Banking experience is highly preferred.

Proficiency in the use of modern office equipment.

Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications (Microsoft Excel and Word preferred); ability to integrate technology into work processes to improve productivity and control.

Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to determine and correct more complex operating problems.

Proficiency in math.

Ability to deliver, understand, and apply the English language to problem-solving situations.

Ability to write and respond to instructions and routine correspondence.

Spanish fluency required.

Effective communication skills. Ability to convey information, ideas, and messages through verbal, written, and non-verbal means to ensure clarity, understanding, and engagement with stakeholders.

Ability to effectively listen and respond to individual members and employees. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.

Develop and maintain productive relationships with partner businesses and other companies or individuals to support organizational operations and objectives.

Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all job duties listed in the Job Description in compliance with all Credit Union policies and procedures.
