National Pharmacy Technician Certification thru either PTCB or ExCPT with CPhT designation and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire or on day one if previously registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy as a technician.
Physical Requirements
This position may require sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Must also be able to reach above or below waist level. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.
Shift
NOTE—this posting is primarily for an as needed (non-benefitted) pharmacist position in the new Richmond, KY location of UKHC Retail Pharmacies. Primarily covering shifts at the Richmond Retail Pharmacy located in Richmond, KY. Must be available to work during operating hours of the location which includes evening and weekend hours. Operating hours, schedule and shifts needed are subject to change based on location and scheduling needs of assignment area. Training shifts may be done in one of the Lexington, KY locations prior to opening of location. Hours and days of week subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Requires occasional holiday and weekend rotations are part of the shifts. Number of hours scheduled per week may vary. Potential shifts and locations available will be discussed during the interview. If selected for one of these positions, reliable transportation will be needed.
Job Summary
Assists pharmacists in medicine preparation and distribution for the Retail Pharmacies operating under University of KY Pharmacy Services. Fills and dispenses prescriptions in a busy retail based setting. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

This position requires dependability, excellent customer service and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Must be self-motivated and be able to stay on task. Must be reliable and punctual. This position requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be applied with both patients and other medical professionals.
Creates and maintains cultures where all staff delivers friendly, patient centered care.

Preferred Education/Experience
Retail and/or Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required. Hired candidate must maintain licensure as CPhT from PTCB/ExCPT during employment in this position.The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
