Logistics Specialist

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary

Reports to: Logistics Director

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Manufacturing Facility)

Summary Objective

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of equipment across multiple departments and external partners. This role ensures efficient supply chain operations, timely deliveries, cost control, and compliance with company policies while supporting project execution in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate domestic and support international shipments including scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Manage heavy haul logistics including routing, permitting, trailer types, and rigging concepts.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules and align stakeholders to delivery requirements.
  • Obtain quotes, manage vendor relationships, and track invoices against budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers and internal/external stakeholders to support project execution.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation and delivery timelines.
  • Drive advanced planning and scheduling across logistics operations.
  • Develop and improve logistics processes, templates, and execution strategies.
  • Own end-to-end shipment responsibilities including compliance and invoice review.
  • Define logistics scope for projects and contracts.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve total cost of ownership.
  • Track metrics and ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Location

This position will work out of our Main Office in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Or where the employee will physically work.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel
Up to 10% travel may be required for project meetings. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.

Required Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of logistics experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in project cargo or heavy industrial logistics is preferred.
  • Experience supporting oversized or heavy haul shipments is a plus.

Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
