Big Sky Thrift seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Retail Assistant with strong organizational skills to join our team, with a focus on store operations. Candidates must be available to work Mondays and Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts throughout the week for a total of 12–32 hours per week. This is a part-time position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive and memorable shopping experience.
- Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers, fostering a sense of community within the store.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store layout to enhance the shopping experience and maximize revenue.
- Support daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Assist with various tasks and projects, including inventory management, merchandising, and event coordination.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and manage transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure that store policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
- Contribute to a positive working environment by collaborating effectively with team members and management.

- Manage inventory control, including receiving, transporting, processing, and displaying merchandise.
- Ensure the store, including the Conex and sorting room, is organized and clean.
- Engage with the community to promote Big Sky Thrift’s mission, values, and events.
- Provide accurate and timely information about Big Sky Thrift's services to customers and visitors.
- Accurately perform all necessary register functions and handle transactions efficiently.
- Ensure merchandise is clean, correctly displayed, and appropriately priced.
- Assist in creating attractive and creative in-store displays and visual merchandising setups.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning.
- Handle guest questions, complaints, and issues.
- Provide a positive atmosphere in the store for guests.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
- Treat customers and coworkers with professionalism and respect at all times.
- Communicate regularly with Retail Manager and coworkers.
- Perform work in a safe and high-quality manner.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Monday-Saturday, 12pm-6pm.
- Assist with the set-up, tear-down, and activity of special store events.

Experience/Education Required
High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work; One to three years’ experience in retail; Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; Previous cash handling experience; Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management.
Experience/Education Preferred
Previous work experience in retail industry. Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid State Driver’s License.
Computer Skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
Language Ability
Able to speak clearly and effectively with guests, co-workers, vendors and other Yellowstone Club departments. Able to write clearly and legibly.
Math Ability
Able to perform basic math calculations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve basic problems and/or know when it is necessary to get a manager to assist in problem solving.
