Job Title: Comfort Specialist

Overview

The Comfort Specialist is a professional in-home sales role responsible for guiding homeowners and small businesses through the process of selecting the most efficient and cost-effective heating and cooling solutions. This position combines strong interpersonal skills, technical understanding, and a consultative sales approach to design and present customized Heat Pump solutions. The Comfort Specialist serves as the primary customer contact from initial consultation through project handoff, ensuring a professional experience aligned with company standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home and on-site consultations to evaluate customer needs, inspect existing systems, take measurements, and perform BTU load calculations to determine appropriate system design.
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals that include system options, scope of work, warranties, and available financing or incentive programs.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and persuasively, guiding customers toward the best comfort and efficiency solutions for their property.
  • Manage open proposals and opportunities through timely and consistent follow-up, maintaining records and activity tracking within the company CRM.
  • Collaborate with operations, installation, and office teams to ensure accurate documentation, efficient scheduling, and a seamless transition from sale to installation.
  • Participate in ongoing product, sales, and compliance training to maintain current industry knowledge.
  • Engage in limited off-season business development activities such as community networking, referral cultivation, and customer re-engagement to supplement inbound lead flow.
  • Adhere to all company sales processes, pricing guidelines, and customer service standards.
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support departmental and company goals.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of in-home or consultative sales experience, ideally within HVAC, home improvement, or a technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, conduct needs assessments, and close sales in a solution-based environment.
  • Working knowledge of Heat Pump systems, energy efficiency principles, and residential comfort solutions preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, customer-friendly language.
  • Proven record of follow-through, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or proposal management systems.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
