Situated above the Ruedi Reservoir, Chapman Campground sits at the base of a wide valley adjacent to the Fryingpan River in White River National Forest. Sites are surrounded by coniferous trees, and several are at the river's edge, offering an ideal setting for visitors seeking recreation and relaxation. Chapman Campground has 81 standard sites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs, and one group site that can accommodate up to 50 people. The campground is equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water. Electrical hook-ups are not available. Trash and recycling collection is provided.

Elk Wallow Campground is most suited for guests looking for a quiet, relatively primitive setting. Camping units can accommodate autos, pickup campers, tents, and small trailers. Camping units have tables, fire rings, and parking spurs. Campground roads are not paved. Hookups and drinking water are not available. There is one vault-type toilet on site. This campground does not take reservations. Fishing is popular in several nearby streams.
