Tech at Lake Regional Health System – Osage Beach, Missouri

Lake Regional is looking for an OB-Tech who can deliver high-quality service, a professional approach & appearance, and promotes customer satisfaction by providing courteous, confidential, proficient practices and prompt response as a fully contributing member of the team. The OB tech assists patients with activities of daily living and performs technical skills under the direction of the Registered Nurse. • Cares for the patient including bath/shower, oral hygiene, back rub, skincare, breast, and perennial care, diapering, sitz bath, feeding, positioning, repositioning, lifting, transfers, and ambulating
• Documents nursing interventions, applies External Fetal Monitor, and collects specimens
• Takes vital signs including height and weight, monitors I and O, removes IV saline locks, removes Foley catheters, administers O2 therapy, administers incentive spirometry, does hemacues, and maintains the logbook
• Assembles phototherapy equipment
• Assists with admits, discharges and transfers, meal selection, and other patient care needs as assigned as part of the patient’s care team.
• Exhibits working knowledge of aseptic technique; set up the table, instruments, and supplies needed for vaginal delivery and/or surgical procedure
• Assists in draping the patient and serves as a scrub tech during surgical procedures
• Maintains the correct count of instruments, sponges, needles, and blades, and anticipates needs of the surgeon
• Assists with the application of dressings
• Perform tasks to ensure orderliness, cleanliness, and maintenance of patient rooms, staff areas, and the support systems of the OB department.

Qualifications:

• High School or GED required
• Previous patient care tech experience required, preferably in OB/Peds
• Scrub tech experience preferred
• Annual influenza vaccines required
