Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science - Magee Women's Research Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking full-time faculty at the level of Assistant Professor, tenure stream. Qualified applicants will be established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding. Exciting opportunities are available for translational research and clinical care. This position involves Research, Teaching, and Service activities. Qualified applicants must have a PhD in a medical field of study.
Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is an independent research Institute and one of the largest in the nation that focuses on reproductive biology, and women's and infants' health. Since its inception in 1992, MWRI has been a leader in funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other sources. Opportunities are available to work with members of MWRI on specific research projects. Time to pursue individual research is available.
Expected to establish and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program in reproductive biology that advances our understanding of the molecular, cellular, and developmental mechanisms underlying women's reproductive health across the lifespan. The research is expected to leverage state-of-the-art approaches in genomics, epigenetics, developmental biology, and reproductive science to generate new biological insights and identify opportunities for improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of reproductive disorders. Expected to collaborate closely with investigators at MWRI, the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, and the broader University of Pittsburgh research community to foster interdisciplinary and translational research. Expected to participate fully in the scientific activities of MWRI, including attending institute conferences and seminars, contributing to collaborative research and grant development, mentoring trainees, and enhancing the national and international reputation of MWRI.
