The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate who will be responsible for maintaining appropriate lab records, contributing to common lab studies, and attending and presenting work at regular group meetings. The position requires an individual with the capability of designing and performing experiments involving both tissue culture and mouse models of inflammation involving the cytokine IL-17. Essential techniques include familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RNA preparation and immunoblotting, cell culture techniques, and a willingness to learn new techniques related to mouse models of autoimmunity and mouse husbandry. The candidate should hold a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field. The Postdoctoral Associate will train junior staff and students in techniques related to this subject area as needed, write research papers and protocols associated with these projects, assist with laboratory function and organization, and any other assignments that the principal investigator may request.
