Inside Sales Trainee – Local Sales

What This Is:

The Inside Sales Trainee is an entry-level development role designed to build the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in Inside Sales at Loeb Electric.

Working alongside experienced sales professionals, you will gain hands-on experience with our products, customers, business systems, quoting, pricing, order management, and sales processes with a clear path toward becoming an Inside Sales Representative.

What You will Do:

• Learn Loeb Electric’s products, customers, systems, and sales processes.
• Assist customers with product questions, pricing, availability, orders, and delivery updates.
• Support Inside Sales with quotes, order entry, product research, and customer follow-up.
• Learn to research products, manufacturers, pricing, availability, and alternatives to help solve customer needs.
• Build knowledge of pricing, gross margin, and profitable sales.
• Develop strong customer relationships through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Work with Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Projects, and other teams to support customers.
• Participate in product, vendor, sales, and industry training.
• Develop sales skills, including identifying customer needs, recommending solutions, and recognizing opportunities for additional sales.
• Take on greater customer and sales responsibilities as your knowledge and confidence grow.

What We Are Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required; college or technical education is a plus.
• No previous electrical distribution or sales experience required.
• Customer service, retail, warehouse, counter sales, construction, or related experience is a plus.
• Effective communication, customer service, organization, and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept coaching.
• Most importantly, an interest in building relationships and developing a career in sales.

This role is designed to prepare you for advancement into an Inside Sales Representative position. As you build proficiency in products, systems, customer service, order management, quoting, pricing, and sales fundamentals, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and grow your career with Loeb Electric.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally required to lift and carry office materials, files, or supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Sitting/Standing/Walking: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk using a computer; occasional standing, walking, or moving between departments.
• Reaching/Handling: Regular reaching, grasping, and handling of office materials; frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Vision: Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, necessary for reading documents, using a computer, and reviewing order details.
• Hearing/Speaking: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and in virtual meetings with customers and team members.
• Environmental Conditions: Work performed primarily in a professional office environment; occasional exposure to warehouses or other company facilities.
