What you will do:

The Media Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and rebuilding of critical production components used in media manufacturing. This role requires strong mechanical skills and attention to detail, as technicians work with precision components that directly impact product quality and machine performance. The position supports daily production by ensuring forming equipment is properly maintained, tracked, and ready for operation. This role includes specialized hands-on training, including time in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild melt blown forming components (beams)
  • Perform precision cleaning using specialized equipment, including robotic pressure washing systems
  • Inspect critical components using magnification tools to identify wear, damage, or defects
  • Maintain and track component condition, history, and lifecycle using serial number tracking systems
  • Ensure all rebuilt components meet quality and performance standards prior to reuse
  • Identify and report issues that could impact production quality or machine performance
  • Maintain and troubleshoot melt blown forming components
  • Maintain organized work areas, tools, and storage systems for components and assemblies
  • Follow all safety procedures and standard work instructions
  • Maintain and assemble melt blown forming equipment
  • Machining, grinding and polishing melt blown nozzles
  • Ensure adequacy of replacement parts to eliminate unacceptable lost production time due to equipment quality.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical experience required (maintenance mechanic, maintenance machinist or tool and die machinist experience or background preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and maintain accurate records
  • Basic computer skills for tracking and documentation
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings required. Print call out details including parallelism, flatness, concentricity, and surface finishes is required. Ability to understand geometric tolerancing preferred.
  • Ability to read measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers and comparators is required.
  • Machinist math ability required. Use basic arithmetic, algebra, and trigonometry to solve for precise dimensions, speeds, and feeds in a shop environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for training (1–2 months)
  • Ability to work a day shift schedule (Monday–Friday)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple components and workflows
