Sr. Energy Storage Project Development Manger

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Energy Storage Project Development Manager in Brazil.

Join a fast-growing and innovation-driven renewable energy environment focused on advancing utility-scale battery energy storage solutions that strengthen grid reliability and accelerate the energy transition. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee the full development lifecycle of large-scale BESS projects, from greenfield origination through permitting, interconnection, commercial structuring, and project execution. You will work closely with commercial, regulatory, engineering, and market stakeholders to shape strategic energy infrastructure initiatives across Brazil. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced renewable energy professional with deep expertise in project development, transmission processes, and energy market regulations. With a fully remote setup and strong executive visibility, you will play a critical role in driving the expansion of next-generation energy storage infrastructure in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and de-risking strategies for utility-scale battery energy storage and renewable infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects throughout the entire development lifecycle, including site origination, permitting, interconnection, commercial agreements, and readiness for construction and operation.
  • Act as the primary commercial lead for negotiations related to PPAs, transmission auctions, interconnection agreements, and regulatory frameworks involving ONS and EPE.
  • Identify, acquire, and evaluate project sites while coordinating due diligence and land transaction activities.
  • Collaborate with market and origination teams to identify new opportunities and support RFP/RFI submissions for renewable energy initiatives.
  • Ensure projects meet financial, operational, and strategic objectives throughout development and execution phases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, regulatory stakeholders, landowners, and energy market participants.
  • Support portfolio growth strategies by evaluating project viability, market opportunities, and infrastructure expansion initiatives.
  • Oversee project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery timelines and commercial outcomes.
  • Contribute to the long-term commercial and operational strategy for energy storage initiatives in Brazil.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in renewable energy project development, commercial management, or infrastructure development within the Brazilian market.
  • Strong understanding of Brazilian energy market structures, including ONS, EPE, transmission auctions, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking utility-scale renewable or energy storage projects from greenfield origination through NTP/COD.
  • Experience negotiating and managing agreements related to land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, PPAs, tolling agreements, and project acquisitions.
  • Strong expertise in project siting, permitting, land diligence, and utility-scale infrastructure development processes.
  • Hands-on experience with real estate transactions and land agreements involving renewable energy developers or IPPs.
  • Solid knowledge of RFP/RFI processes and commercial structuring for renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar + storage, or grid-connected energy storage projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex project portfolios in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is strongly preferred.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work model with flexibility across Brazil.
  • Competitive compensation package with strong growth potential.
  • Open PTO policy and flexible working hours.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, cutting-edge renewable energy and battery storage projects.
  • Exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision-making initiatives.
  • Collaborative and transparent work environment with strong innovation focus.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to the expansion of clean energy infrastructure and grid modernization.
  • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding renewable energy organization.
