Job Summary |
The Clinical Nutrition Manager plans, coordinates, and manages all clinical nutrition services across acute care, outpatient, and specialty service lines while ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. This position provides leadership for nutrition care delivery, supports interdisciplinary collaboration, and advances nutrition-related initiatives that improve patient outcomes, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient experience.
The Clinical Nutrition Manager functions as key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, responsible for developing and maintaining programs that support acute care nutrition management, oncology nutrition services, ambulatory nutrition counseling and education, transition of nutrition interventions across levels of care, and hospital-wide malnutrition identification and intervention efforts. This includes directing all clinical nutrition activities, determining staffing needs, ensuring regulatory readiness, and promoting cost-effective nutrition care across the continuum of care.

Minimum Job Requirements |
- Three (3) years of progressive experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care hospital setting.
- Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field from an accredited institution with coursework approved by applicable nutrition and dietetics accrediting agencies.
- Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) required.
- Licensed Dietitian in the State of Indiana.

- Master’s degree preferred.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress.
- Excellent time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task in a fast-paced setting and work well in a team environment.
- Developed computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office, telephone system and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High degree of accuracy with concentration and close attention to detail.
- Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.

Working Conditions |
- Typical office environment with prolonged sitting.
- Work subject to interruptions and occasional high stress levels.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours, evenings and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
- Ability to work various hospital and outpatient settings, from patient rooms/floors to kitchen/serving areas.
- Works with protected health information.
