Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will provide support to the Maintenance team and the facility through direct and indirect involvement in all maintenance Technician tasks.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Actively support a Safety Culture and engage in continuous improvement and communication throughout the company
  • Manage work assignments to support achievement of production goals
  • Work with all Engineers to develop and execute attainable work practices in each process area
  • Develop an understanding of the maintenance skill set and provide leadership to improve the individual and teams added value
  • Understand and execute HR Policies and procedures in a firm, fair and consistent manner
  • Understand and promote EHS policies and procedures to maintain compliance with safety
  • Communicate with the Maintenance team, between shifts and with all needed persons to maintain a constant workflow
  • Communicate throughout shift with manufacturing, Quality and Management
  • Monitor and report daily activities, emission readings, and safety items promptly
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed by management.
  • May be responsible for moving Hazardous Materials

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to think outside the box to make improvements
  • Ability to read and understand technical information and prints
  • Utilize critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to determine the best and safest practical solution to problems
  • High degree of Emotional Intelligence
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adhere to standards
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism and uphold the company's ethical standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge and experience preferred
  • PLC and Utilities Knowledge and experience a plus
  • Knowledge of machine tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Supervision principles and personnel administration
  • Speaking and listening effectively in order to carry out duties as assigned and lead areas

of responsibility

Education & Experience:

  • Engineering or Maintenance Technical Training Preferred, or 5+ years’ experience
  • 2+ years’ supervising employees in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in Maintenance or Engineering roles
  • Experience working for a manufacturing facility preferred
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands:

Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and ascend/descend stairs and ladders.
  • May use scissor lifts or boom lifts on occasion
  • Must be able to navigate throughout inside and outside the facility
  • Must be able to effectively operate a computer
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE while in production area.
  • Must be able to pass a (PFT) Pulmonary Function Test for respirator wear
