INSTALL LEAD
POSITION SUMMARY
The Install Lead is responsible for supervising the installation of project elements on-site. These duties include planning and organizing workload to maximize productivity; supervising and monitoring progress to ensure completion and quality meet customer expectations. The position involves participation in the completion, implementation, and/or modification of elements as a master craftsman. The Install Lead role requires strong leadership: giving direction, training, positive reinforcement, and critical feedback. This is an hourly position that currently reports to the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Requires travel to site to oversee and complete project installation. Each project may require multiple trips to acquire site dimensions, complete multiple phases, are follow-up with punch list rework.
- Requires the ability and willingness to adjust to shifting priorities and plans to meet the needs of the project.
- Communicate daily with Production Manager to provide installation progress updates, identify concerns, and develop plans to course correct based on available resources.
- Prioritize scheduled workload for the installation to optimize output each week. Adjust plans as needed when priorities shift.
- Communicate with installation team to ensure the team have clear direction, guidance, and support.
- Maintain a strong working relationships with the Project Manager to ensure consistent communication and awareness of all details related to project completion.
- Focus on ensuring each finished element meets quality standards.
- Work with 3rd Party install vendors to ensure methods and standards align with project needs.
- Attend project installation meetings as needed to offer insight on materials, applications, design, and other potential impacts to project success.
- Ensure the safety of each employee and the safe use of all equipment and material. Model exemplary safety behaviors.
- Ensure equipment and tools are maintained and in good working condition. Partner with Production Manager for maintenance and repair needs.
- Consistently administer company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct supervisory responsibilities include those with install duties.
QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED
High School diploma or GED; higher education desirable.
Able to tolerate non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers.
Strong leadership abilities and superior organizational skills with a detail-orientated focus.
Must have experience operating forklifts and access equipment.
Must have skills utilizing spreadsheets and database-type programs.
Must have the ability to work collaboratively with production crew, project managers and account executives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to lift and carry 75 pounds routinely
Climb stairs and ladders
Walk, stoop, bend and twist to reach materials
Grasp materials
Stand/walk for long periods at a time
Carry or manipulate heavy materials or fabricates components
Safely operate shop and handheld tools or machinery
Able to distinguish colors and shapes on finished elements
