Job Description
Position Summary
The Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic testing on patients such as fundus photography, OCTs, color vision testing, pachymetry, visual fields. This position may also be responsible for assisting Ophthalmologists and Optometrists by performing ophthalmic clinical functions as necessary including patient work ups and administering eye medications. Travel between clinic locations and/or overtime may be required based on operational needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Responsible for opening and closing diagnostic area, maintaining equipment and rooms in working conditions.
- Performing test based on a physician's orders.
- Perform visual field testing: Humphrey
- Perform OCT testing: Heidelberg and Cirrus
- Fundus Photography
- External Photography
- Corneal Topography: Atlas and Pentacam
- Timely, accurately and efficient transferring test results into electronic medical records.
- Update patient records using high level of proficiency within the EMS or other related system.
- Comply with all HIPPA regulations in all interactions with patient information

Requirements:Qualifications
- Minimal of one year in Ophthalmology.
- Certification preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Superior interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to perform manifest refraction is preferred.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy.
