This is a remote opportunity for a highly analytical Business Systems Analyst supporting enterprise application modernization, governance, and technology strategy initiatives.
You will act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, project managers, architects, developers, and technical teams.

You will translate complex, fragmented, or incomplete information into clear requirements, workflows, user stories, and professional deliverables.
Success in this position requires curiosity, strong analytical thinking, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to investigate issues independently.
You will work within Agile environments while maintaining a strong focus on analysis rather than Scrum facilitation or backlog administration.
This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the modernization and improvement of enterprise technology systems supporting complex organizations.
- Facilitate detailed requirements sessions with business users, subject-matter experts, technical teams, and other stakeholders to understand objectives, constraints, and system needs.
- Ask targeted and probing questions to uncover business rules, data requirements, dependencies, assumptions, exceptions, and key decision points.
- Independently investigate complex topics, identify information gaps, conduct research, and engage appropriate subject-matter experts to develop complete and accurate deliverables.
- Develop epics, features, user stories, business requirements, functional requirements, business rules, and detailed acceptance criteria that provide sufficient direction for development and testing.
- Analyze business processes and application behavior, documenting current-state and future-state workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Create detailed analytical artifacts, including process flows, swim lane diagrams, workflow diagrams, and current-to-future-state models.
- Analyze how data elements, business conditions, rules, and dependencies influence application behavior and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers, project managers, and technical teams when requirements require deeper technical investigation or clarification.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, development activities, testing, and intended business outcomes.
- Support enterprise application modernization, technology governance, standards, procedures, and other strategic technology initiatives as needed.
- Produce clear, accurate, professional technical and business documentation from limited or fragmented source information.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or higher is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Engineer, Senior Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or similar technology-focused role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting software development or enterprise application initiatives, preferably within complex organizational environments.
- Strong requirements elicitation, critical thinking, research, and analytical capabilities, with the ability to independently identify gaps and determine what additional information is required.
- Proven ability to develop detailed requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process models, and workflow documentation.
- Strong understanding of business processes, functional system behavior, workflows, data requirements, dependencies, and business rules.
- Exceptional professional and technical writing skills, including the ability to synthesize substantial information into concise, accurate, and well-structured documentation.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to executives, business stakeholders, architects, developers, and other technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and the ability to contribute effectively without relying primarily on Scrum facilitation or backlog-management responsibilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, or SharePoint, is a plus.
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications, developing governance frameworks, policies, procedures, SOPs, or technology standards is advantageous.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management, enterprise technology governance, and direct collaboration with solution architects and development teams is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required for positions involving government security clearances and certain restricted assignments.
- Salary: $115,000–$145,000 per year, with final compensation based on factors including experience, education, skills, responsibilities, and market conditions.
