Job Description
Summary
Under the direction of the Engineering Department, prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. (Auto Cad and Solid Works)
2. Layout and draw schematic, orthographic or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and machines.
3. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
4. Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the material.
5. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and procedures and instructions to be followed.
6. Update internal records, reports, drawings
and designs through the system and document control.
7. Perform engineering assignments relative to
the development and design of tools, dies,
fixtures, gauges, and special machine tooling.
8. Participate in continuous improvement
projects to include development, implementation, repair, and replacement projects.
Qualifications
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor Degree – Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field is required and/or
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent is recommended.
Must be a United States Citizen.

Ability to apply near vision, oral comprehension, and visualization.
Work Activities
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to include applying principles, techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Work Environment
Office Setting.
