Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as the front-line receptionist and clinical support team member for Pre-Admission Testing (PAT). Performs patient intake functions including vital signs and EKGs, prepares and maintains medical charts, and coordinates scheduling activities. Ensures accurate and timely processing of pre-procedure requirements to support surgical readiness. Promotes patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality customer service in all interactions.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Proficient in the use of keyboard and basic computer application skills. Ability to become proficient in the use of software applications specific to job duties, within 3 months of hire. Customer service skills gained through previous related work experience.
Preferred: Associate Degree in Medical Office Administration or related field. Completion of formal education/training program for Medical Office Assistants, with similar experience in a physician practice or clinic setting and knowledge/experience working with eClinical Works physician services software.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication during interaction with others. Incumbent must demonstrate competence per the position’s Skills Checklist before being allowed to perform independently.
