Axon Medical Centers is a growing personal-injury healthcare organization specializing in Orthopedic & Spine Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Vestibular Rehabilitation.
We are expanding our services into Longview, Texas, and are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing rehabilitation team.
Position Overview
The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide quality therapeutic services to patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, spine, and traumatic injuries.
The ideal candidate is energetic, compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic interventions under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, mobility training, and prescribed treatment programs.
Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate concerns to the supervising PT.
Assist with patient education and home exercise programs.
Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment.
Properly set up and maintain therapy equipment.
Accurately document treatment sessions in the EMR.
Complete documentation within required timelines.
Assist with patient scheduling and maintaining efficient clinic flow when appropriate.
Communicate professionally with patients and members of the clinical team.
Participate in daily team huddles and interdisciplinary communication.
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and company policies.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Support the development and growth of Axon's Longview rehabilitation program.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current Texas PTA license.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent organization and time-management skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Preferred:
Outpatient orthopedic experience.
Personal-injury experience.
Neurological or TBI rehabilitation experience.
Vestibular rehabilitation experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
EMR experience.
