Burke is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and skilled PRN Registered Nurse to join our Mental Health Emergency Center team in Lufkin.

Our Mental Health Emergency Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing care to adults experiencing acute mental health needs. In this role, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide nursing care, assist with admissions and assessments, administer medications, and coordinate medical and psychiatric services.

Under the clinical direction of a physician and the Nursing Clinical Coordinator, you'll help ensure individuals receive safe, timely, and appropriate care in a supportive environment.

• Provide direct nursing care, including administering oral medications and injections.
• Complete admission and nursing assessments, medication consents, and required documentation.
• Respond to community inquiries regarding potential admissions and review medical records to determine admission appropriateness.
• Coordinate psychiatric assessments using telehealth equipment and arrange emergency healthcare services with other medical providers.
• Maintain medication inventory and provide patient education.
• Communicate and collaborate with treatment team members, medical providers, and community partners.
• Supervise Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Mental Health Specialists as assigned.
• Participate in call rotation as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Valid Texas driver's license with a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
• Ability to successfully complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid.

• At least one (1) year of experience as a licensed RN in a medical or acute mental health setting.

This position requires the ability to see, hear, communicate verbally, walk, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and use hands and fingers for tasks such as writing and typing.
