Terra Energy is a fast-growing residential solar installation company operating across Florida and Texas. As we scale our operations, we are building an in-house engineering team to support plan review, inspection services, and installation quality assurance — allowing us to move faster, maintain higher standards, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and installation crews.

The Role

This position serves as the Human Resources leader for Terra Energy, responsible for managing HR operations across the United States. The role oversees payroll administration, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and HR processes while partnering with leadership to support organizational growth and employee engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing

HR Operations & Administration

Lead and scale the HR organization and function to support the hiring and growth needs of the business.Manage and oversee payroll processes across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Administer employee benefits programs and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.Prepare, review, and maintain employment agreements, policy acknowledgments, terminations, and other employment-related documentation.Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.Maintain HR systems and employee data while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.Recruitment & OnboardingLead the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, offer management, and onboarding.Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.Coordinate and support recruitment efforts across the organization to ensure timely and successful hiring outcomes.Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and positive employee experience from day one.Coordinate and deliver employee orientation programs, training resources, and onboarding activities to support engagement and productivity.Maintain recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment and onboarding processes to enhance efficiency, candidate experience, and employee retention.

Employee Relations & Culture

Act as the main point of contact for all HR-related matters, providing support and guidance to employees and managers.Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace issues with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.Promote a positive company culture, employee engagement, and recognition initiatives that strengthen team collaboration.Offboarding & ComplianceManage employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews, separation documentation, final pay coordination, and employee communications.Ensure all offboarding activities are completed accurately, professionally, and in compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, ensuring HR policies and practices align with legal requirements.Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, recommending updates to policies, procedures, and HR practices as needed.Maintain accurate HR records and documentation to support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements.Partner with leadership and legal advisors, when necessary, to address employee relations, compliance, and workplace matters.Strategic & Cross-functional CoordinationPartner closely with Operations, Finance, and company leadership to align HR strategies and initiatives with organizational goals and business objectives.Provide insights, recommendations, and data-driven solutions to improve workforce planning, employee retention, performance management, and overall organizational effectiveness.Collaborate with department leaders to identify talent needs, support succession planning, and drive employee development initiatives.Analyze HR metrics and trends to support strategic decision-making and continuous process improvement.Lead and support HR projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and business performance.Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational development, employee relations, workforce planning, and change management.Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistency in HR policies, processes, communications, and employee programs across the organization.What We’re Looking For8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership responsibilities.Experience managing HR operations across multiple states within the United States.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.Experience overseeing payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.Proven ability to build and improve HR processes, policies, and programs in a growing organization.Experience leading full-cycle recruitment efforts and partnering with hiring managers to support organizational growth.Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with executives, managers, and employees at all levels.Experience supporting organizational growth, change management, and workforce planning initiatives.HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting multi-state operations, particularly in Florida, Texas, and California.Prior experience in the renewable energy, solar, construction, manufacturing, home services, or field operations industries.Experience building, scaling, or transforming HR functions within a high-growth or startup environment.Strong background in organizational development, workforce planning, succession planning, and change management.Experience implementing or optimizing HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and performance management systems.Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.Experience managing compensation programs, benefits strategy, and employee engagement initiatives.Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support business growth.Experience leading HR compliance efforts across multiple states and supporting audits, policy development, and regulatory requirements.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.How You’ll Work at Terra Energy
