FMI is seeking an experienced Composite Layup / Tape Wrapper to support composite manufacturing operations through precision tape wrapping, lay-up, tooling preparation, and curing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent hand dexterity and coordination, and patience with repetitive precision-based tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable following detailed work instructions, maintaining consistent quality standards, and working independently in a manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform composite tape wrapping, lay-up, and tooling preparation operations
- Load and unload tooling from lathes and tape wrapping equipment
- Prepare, bag, and de-bag composite parts for autoclave or Hydroclave curing
- Mix rubber and solvent materials and prepare rubber bags/patterns for curing processes
- Read and follow work instructions, specifications, safety procedures, and SDS documentation
- Record process and production data accurately
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and report equipment issues as needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all PPE and company safety requirements
What we need from you:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures
- Manufacturing experience with strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an active manufacturing environment

Shift Schedule:
- E Shift – Monday to Thursday 6a to 6p
