Job Description

Staff Product Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Designer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly scaling SaaS product through strategic design leadership and systems thinking.
You will help build the foundation that enables consistent, high-quality product experiences across multiple teams and business areas.
The position combines deep product craft, design system ownership, AI-enabled workflows, and cross-functional influence.
You will tackle complex B2B challenges while partnering closely with product and engineering leaders to define meaningful solutions.
This is a high-impact role for a senior designer who thrives in ambiguity, creates leverage through scalable systems, and raises the quality bar across an organization.
You will mentor other designers, influence product strategy, and help establish practices that allow teams to move faster without compromising user experience.
The role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a fast-growing technology environment.

Accountabilities:

As a Staff Product Designer, you will provide strategic design leadership across product initiatives while driving the evolution of scalable design systems, user experiences, and team practices.

  • Define and maintain a high standard of product quality across owned experiences, ensuring solutions are intuitive, polished, and scalable.
  • Lead the strategic evolution of the design system, including component libraries, documentation, governance, adoption, and AI-enabled design workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements that increase efficiency and consistency across multiple product teams.
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to shape product strategy and solve complex, ambiguous business and user problems.
  • Design solutions for complex systems involving information architecture, shared components, and cross-product experiences.
  • Conduct and guide qualitative and quantitative research to inform product decisions and validate design direction.
  • Drive design initiatives from problem definition through execution, owning outcomes rather than only deliverables.
  • Mentor designers, provide meaningful feedback, and contribute to team growth through reviews, coaching, and process improvements.
  • Communicate design strategy and rationale effectively to cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Advocate for design excellence and help strengthen the role of design within product development processes.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced product designer with strong systems thinking, exceptional craft, and a proven ability to influence complex B2B product environments.

  • 8+ years of experience designing complex B2B SaaS products or similarly sophisticated digital experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience operating across multiple product teams and solving organization-wide design challenges.
  • Proven ownership or significant contribution to a design system, including component strategy, documentation, adoption, and governance.
  • Experience with token-based design systems and component libraries spanning design tools such as Figma and development environments such as Storybook.
  • Strong product design skills with a track record of delivering high-quality, user-centered experiences.
  • Ability to independently navigate ambiguity, define problems, and drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Experience mentoring designers and improving team practices, standards, or processes.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence product and engineering leadership.
  • Strong understanding of AI-assisted design and development workflows or interest in emerging design technologies.
  • Experience working within design-focused, product-led organizations is preferred.
  • Experience in accounting, financial services, or other complex B2B industries is a plus.
  • Experience leading design communities, guilds, or cross-functional design initiatives is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Stock options providing ownership in company growth.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility.
  • 401(k) matching program.
  • Access to advanced AI tools and an AI-focused culture that encourages experimentation and innovation.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful, complex product challenges with experienced professionals.
  • Annual adventure travel stipend after each employment anniversary.
  • Collaborative culture built around ownership, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunity to influence product strategy and shape scalable design practices.
