- Monitor breaking soccer news, live matches, and trending stories, using strong editorial judgment to identify the most relevant developments for audiences.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate breaking news articles, headlines, captions, and live updates while maintaining high editorial standards under tight deadlines.
- Deliver engaging push notifications that highlight major news, must-watch moments, and feature content to maximize audience engagement.
- Curate news feeds by selecting a balanced mix of written articles, videos, and social media content from trusted sources.
- Pitch, research, and produce feature stories, analysis pieces, and opinion content covering major soccer events, emerging talent, transfers, and key storylines.
- Collaborate with editorial leadership and newsroom colleagues to ensure comprehensive, high-quality sports coverage across multiple digital platforms.
- Support additional editorial initiatives and newsroom projects as needed in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Strong expertise in soccer, including teams, players, competitions, statistics, history, and current trends within the global game.
- Solid understanding of digital journalism, mobile publishing, social media platforms, and audience engagement strategies.
- Previous experience as a news editor, sports writer, or journalist in a professional or academic newsroom is preferred.
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven ability to make sound editorial decisions, write accurately under pressure, and meet demanding deadlines.
- Excellent writing, editing, headline creation, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Availability to work rotating schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and major sporting events.
- Competitive salary ranging from $45,000 to $63,000 USD.
