About the Role:
The Licensed Professional Health Associate (LPHA) / Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) plays a critical role in providing comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position involves conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based counseling interventions to support clients' recovery and wellness. The LPHA/LCDC collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, social workers, and case managers, to ensure holistic care and continuity of services. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to ethical and legal standards in all client interactions. Ultimately, the LPHA/LCDC contributes to improving client outcomes by fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment that empowers individuals to achieve sustained recovery and improved quality of life.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Professional Health Arts (LPHA) or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) certification in Texas.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
- Demonstrated experience in substance use disorder counseling and treatment.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and ethical standards in behavioral health.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with state and federal regulations regarding client confidentiality and care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
- Additional certifications related to behavioral health or substance use treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' substance use and mental health status.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans based on client needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on substance use disorder treatment and relapse prevention.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social services, and community resources to coordinate care and support client recovery.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Facilitate educational workshops and support groups to enhance client knowledge and coping skills.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
