Position Summary:

As the Quality Assurance Manager, Lab Platforms you will lead the quality assurance team for NeoGenomics Lab Platforms and converts a predominantly manual test practice into an automation-first quality engineering function, owning test architecture, CI/CD quality gates, test data strategy, and validation evidence for a regulated clinical laboratory. You will also manage onsite and offshore QA automation engineers and you are accountable for release readiness, critical-path coverage, and defect escape rate.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the Lab Platforms automated test architecture across UI, API, database, and interface layers, spanning Testim and code-based frameworks, and set locator, custom-action, and coding standards
  • Convert the manual regression inventory into a risk-ranked automated suite with published targets for critical-path coverage, execution time, and flake rate
  • Embed automated quality gates in CI/CD (TeamCity) to block releases on failing smoke and regression runs; own suite reliability, reporting, and failure triage
  • Govern test assets as production code: Git branching, pull request review, reusable components, and a HIPAA-compliant test data and environment strategy
  • Automate validation evidence and requirement-to-test-case-to-result traceability for computer system validation, 21 CFR Part 11, CLIA/CAP, and internal SOPs
  • Automate interface, integration, and performance testing across instruments, middleware, HL7/ASTM/FHIR and REST interfaces, and downstream billing and data warehouse feeds
  • Manage, coach, and grow the onsite and offshore QA automation team, including upskilling manual testers, reviewing test code, and hiring
  • Publish quality engineering metrics, govern the defect lifecycle, and own the release go/no-go recommendation
  • Evaluate AI-assisted and low-code testing tools

Experience, Educations and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field required; Master's preferred
  • At least 5 years in software QA or quality engineering, including 4+ years building automated test frameworks and leading QA, automation or SDET teams (onsite and offshore) in a laboratory, medical device or healthcare environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience working with JavaScript proficiency for custom actions, validation scripts, and API response parsing required (Java acceptable, TypeScript a plus), plus working SQL for back-end validation
  • Applied experience with Selenium WebDriver with dynamic XPath/CSS locators plus one additional tool (Cypress, Playwright, or Testim), and REST API testing with Postman, Swagger, and JSON schema validation, required
  • Previously responsible for CI/CD test integration and execution report analysis with Git branching and pull requests required; TeamCity preferred
  • Exposure to tegulated clinical system experience (LIMS, LIS, or EMR) under CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, or CLIA/CAP, with HL7/ASTM/FHIR interfaces, preferred

The Software Testing focus specializes in developing testing programs to identify possible errors, defects, and bugs in pre-deployment software products and ensure that the code written by developers enables it to perform as expected in terms of function, compatibility, design, etc. This role provides operational leadership, using independent judgment to address tactical issues and drive outcomes at the unit or departmental level.
