Maintenance Mechanic – 1st shift in Asheville, North Carolina at Friday Services

Pay: $19.00$22.00/hr.
Full-Time | Maintenance & Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and support industrial sewing machines, plant equipment, and facility operations. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong mechanical skills and experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment.

• Perform scheduled, routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on industrial sewing machines and plant equipment

• Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical problems

• Make necessary repairs and corrective adjustments

• Perform facility maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, fixtures, and physical structures

• Install, maintain, refurbish, and modify equipment and work areas

• Help improve machines, workstations, and fixtures

• Provide backup support for maintenance and utility functions

• Participate in training, meetings, and other maintenance projects as needed

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Industrial sewing machine maintenance experience required

• Physical plant maintenance experience required

• Mechanical, electrical, and general plumbing experience preferred

• Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification

• Valid drivers license required and must be insurable

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and turn for up to 10 hours per day

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for at least 20 feet

• Must be willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime

• Steel-toed shoes required
