Position SummarySafety Requirements
Position Summary
The Cylinder Filler position is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient filing, handling, inspection, and storage of high-pressure gas cylinders for American Gas Products, Inc. (“AGPI”). This role reports to the Depot Manager and has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities- Fill high pressure compressed gas cylinders, liquid containers, and pallet manifolds.
- Perform all required pre-filled inspections.
- Move cylinders to various staging areas for filling, storage, and maintenance.
- Operate plant equipment and system components.
- Monitor inventory of cylinder stock to ensure product availability requirements are met.
- Complete cylinder fill logs.
- Verify incoming gas deliveries.
- Ensure plant and dock area is kept clean, safe, and organized.
- Maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Other duties as assigned
- Promptly report safety hazards to management or the safety department.
- Follow all AGPI and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Immediately report all incidents, accidents, or injuries to HR and management.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Refuse and report any unsafe tasks or conditions.
- Participate in required safety meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain constant awareness of personal and coworker safety.
- Ability to hold scanning devices, drive, and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive motion.
- Regularly lift 25 to 75 lbs; occasionally lift 76 to 100+ lbs.
- Push and pull wheeled containers weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
- Ability to identify and differentiate between various scents.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Adapt quickly to changes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a plant/warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Standard workdays are at least 8 hours, with additional hours as required.
Education, Experience & CertificationHigh school diploma or GED; one (1) year of relevant experience.
