Assistant Controller | Central Virginia

A growing manufacturing company in Central Virginia is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Controller to serve as a key financial leader within the organization. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to senior leadership, ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with a strong manufacturing background.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close, financial statement preparation, and general ledger integrity
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and banking relationships
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing costing
• Drive the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs
• Lead and develop a small accounting team while continuously improving financial processes and controls

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a manufacturing environment
• 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity
• Strong command of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and ERP systems
• Proven experience in cash management and full-cycle close
• Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail
