JOB SUMMARY: The Dietary Aide is responsible for dining room meal service to residents. The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department. This includes assisting and feeding residents. This position is responsible for representing New Day well and promoting its culture.
DUTIES:
The Dietary Aide will be responsible for the below job duties including but not limited to:
· Represent New Day with professionalism, always embracing New Day’s culture, which includes “treating others as you would like to be treated.”
· Monitor meal service to ensure resident satisfaction with meal and receive feedback as appropriate.
· Place items such as eating utensils, napkins and condiments on the tables
· Prepares beverages and sets them on tables
· Sweep and mops the floors
· Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
· Ability to understand and follow sanitation procedures
· Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen at all times. This is demonstrated by:
o Cleaning as you go
o Keeping the pantries clean and well organized
o Use clean washcloths throughout the day to keep counter tops and cooking surfaces sterile
o Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed by the end of shift, and that the kitchen is clean, and garbage is removed prior to departure.
· Document food, freezer and refrigerator temperatures per standards
· Put groceries away, ensuring all items are properly dated, rotated, and stored according to New Day food safety standards
· Provide kitchen support when required.
· Assist residents with eating as needed.
· Excellent customer service skills, be courteous, professional, work well as a team and be compassionate and patient when working with elderly residents, as well as their family members, and other guests.
· All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/House Manager
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS: Must complete probationary period successfully. Must have CBRF Dietary and Serv Safe training. Ability to serve meals and assist the residents in eating, as well as be able to operate kitchen equipment and maintain clean, safe and orderly food preparation and storage areas. Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
· Full ranges of motion to climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· Full function of hands and arms
· Occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds.
