POSITION SUMMARY
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the daily operations of the tool crib by maintaining inventory, issuing and receiving tools and supplies, tracking tooling usage, and ensuring manufacturing teams have the materials necessary to support production, maintenance, machining, die repair, and continuous improvement activities. This position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Issue, receive, and track tooling, gauges, cutting tools, hand tools, PPE, and maintenance supplies.
· Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing computerized inventory management systems and/or ERP software.
· Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to supervisors or purchasing.
· Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and specifications, and properly stock materials.
· Organize and maintain tool crib locations to ensure efficient retrieval and storage of materials.
· Inspect tools and equipment for damage or wear and coordinate repairs, replacements, or calibration as needed.
· Coordinate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Tool Room, Engineering, and Purchasing teams to address tooling requirements.
· Assist with managing critical spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
· Support emergency requests from production areas while maintaining proper inventory controls.
· Maintain accurate records of tool issuance, returns, repairs, and inventory transactions.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance storeroom, tool crib, warehouse, or industrial inventory environment preferred.
· Experience in a die casting, machining, or automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to read, write, and understand English.
· Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
JOB SKILLS
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory data.
· Experience with ERP systems, barcode scanners, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
· Ability to read and understand tooling specifications, part numbers, and technical documentation.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
· Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
· Must be able to travel between Madison and Sun Prairie locations.
