| Physical Requirements | Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs., sitting for extended periods of time; including sitting at computer workstation. Occasional risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job, loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, burns, cuts/punctures, combative/violent people, and animal handling (including carcasses). |

| Job Summary | The University of Kentucky Police Department is seeking an Emergency Management Director to lead in the Crisis Management and Preparedness Division. This position’s operational oversight will be in UK HealthCare and related facilities across the state. The major job responsibilities of this position are program leadership, strategic planning and communication, as well as continuity, growth, and professional development. Key duties include supervising and training Emergency Management Specialists and Educators, responding to emergencies as a representative for the Emergency Operations Center organization, creating and implementing goals, areas for improvement, and crisis preparedness efforts for all potential emergencies, and evaluating after-action reports. This position will be involved in preparedness and response efforts at any or all University of Kentucky and HealthCare-owned properties across the state. |
