Job Description
Norwood Hills Country Club is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Director of Marketing & Communications. This role is responsible for overseeing all internal and external club communications, driving brand stewardship, managing digital channels, and establishing clear communication SOPs. This individual will elevate the club’s digital presence, streamline event promotions, curate high-end print and digital collateral, and serve as the liaison to the Communications Committee.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Stewardship & Standards
- Brand Consistency: Develop and enforce comprehensive brand standards and style guides, ensuring logo usage, color palettes, and tone of voice remain consistent across all touchpoints (from scorecards and menus to digital assets).
- Corporate Templates: Create and maintain official club presentation decks, letterheads, and standardized administrative documents.
- Photography & Videography: Coordinate professional photoshoots and video assets to build and manage a centralized image library for venue marketing.
2. Communication Strategy & SOP Governance
- Process Management & SOPs: Establish and enforce strict club communication Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing event promotion criteria and distribution schedules.
- Editorial Control: Maintain complete internal control over all official club communications.
- Regular Publications: Draft, design, and distribute high-quality weekly, monthly, and quarterly newsletters, member emails, and organizational announcements.
3. Digital Platforms, App & Website Management
- App & Portal Maintenance: Keep digital event calendars, online flyers, and mobile app content updated and accurate.
- Website Optimization: Maintain an aesthetically pleasing public-facing website optimized for SEO to support community outreach and prospective member discovery.
4. Event Promotion & Recruitment Collateral
- Promotional Asset Creation: Design professional flyers, print/digital signage, and email blasts for club events; manage rotating digital display content on clubhouse TVs.
- Membership Collateral: Partner with membership to create high-impact recruitment collaterals that attract prospective members.
- High-End Collateral Design: Produce premium print materials, including wedding package kits, tournament menus, catering packages, table numbers, and F&B identification cards.
5. Member Engagement & Public Relations
- Member Recognition: Highlight member milestones (holes-in-one, major anniversaries, member of the month) across club channels and automate personal birthday/anniversary greetings on behalf of the club.
- Public Relations & Social Media: Manage the club’s public image across social media platforms—showcasing the course, dining, and lifestyle—while safeguarding the club’s reputation within the local community.
- Member Feedback & Surveys: Design, deploy, and analyze post-event, quarterly dining, and golf surveys to track member feedback (positive, neutral, and constructive).
6. Committee Liaison
- Committee Reporting: Prepare and present regular marketing performance metrics, communication initiatives, and strategic updates to the Communications Committee.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of success in membership sales, private club operations, hospitality management, or high-end account management.
- Demonstrated experience with CRM systems, digital marketing tools, and private club management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and diplomatic tact when dealing with members and board leadership.
