Responsibilities:

Provide direct care for the physical and social needs of individuals served in accordance with their IP and the policies of OWC. Duties can include in-house activities, community outings, implementing and monitoring goals, assisting with mealtimes, transportation, arts, and crafts, ensuring the health and safety of the participants. Perform all duties required of support staff as defined by OWC job description. Follow all Policy & Procedure as well as safety and emergency procedures. Be involved in OWC fundraising events. Perform other duties as they arise.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

This position requires both creativity and compassion. This position is a part time M, T, F 24hr position which includes am transportation & pm Transportation run. This is a unique position in our agency – the staff at Therapeutic Horticulture work with individuals served and guests to create projects of a horticultural nature. This is in a greenhouse setting and involves all the things that go with that – plants, watering, growing etc. A High School diploma or GED is required. Must have ability to drive for OWC (Opportunity Works CT). Experience in a Green House or Day Program setting is a plus. Reliability, dependability, and flexibility with your hours are necessary. Ability to interact professionally with co-workers and individuals served. Must be able to work as a part of the team as well as independently.
