Job Description

Overview

Assists in the development, presentation, and coordination of employee training specific to job function. Will develop and maintain constructive working relationships with stakeholders and teammates, such as Human Resources partners, department leaders, and subject-matter experts. Acts as a subject matter expert, training resource, and mentor for employees in the supported business unit(s).

Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to, those listed and are subject to change:

  1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision.
  2. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
  3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
  5. Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  6. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events on an annual basis.
  7. Conducts and coordinates training for new hires and existing staff within the business units supported.
  8. Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  9. Prepares for upcoming classes by reviewing the course material, coordinating with Talent Acquisition (TA) and Human Resources (HR), and welcoming the learners.
  10. Continually looks to refine and enhance training opportunities to increase outcomes and participate engagement.
  11. Plays a role in mentoring new and existing staff.
  12. Builds, coaches, and identifies training class opportunities for staff professional growth and coordinates employee continuing development.
  13. Reviews and analyzes records for training programs, including, but not limited to, course evaluations and learner participation, data and trends to recommend program changes.
  14. Assists with maintaining the knowledge base by updating resources, flagging inaccuracies, and answering questions.
  15. Develops, maintains, and evaluates the credit union’s policies, procedures, programs, and manuals within content area.
  16. Cross-trains and collaborates with other members of the learning and development team to be able to assist in other learner experiences.
  17. Coordinates, develops, and/or conducts other types of instructor-led training, as assigned.
  18. Participates in work groups to identify knowledge gaps and recommend learning solutions.
  19. Participates in, and may lead, train-the-trainer sessions for other credit union trainers.
  20. Provides feedback to other members of the learning and development team through observations and peer learning.
  21. Partners with learning and development team members to seek, grow, and promote learning technology that supports both functional training and career development.
  22. Keeps up with development in learning industry through reading current blogs, articles, professional association membership, and peer learning.
  23. Performs other duties as assigned by the Training and Development Manager.
Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study is strongly preferred.
  2. Minimum three years of industry or related experience required.
  3. Great communication skills with strong written and oral presentation skills.
  4. Ability to operate related computer applications with specific emphasis on Microsoft suite and credit union technology used by the business units supported.
  5. Resourceful and well organized with the ability to prioritize work assignments efficiently.
  6. Self-directed nature, ability to work independent of supervision.
  7. Creative and adaptable with good problem-solving skills.
  8. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.
  9. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Frequent travel to various credit union locations is a requirement of the role.
  10. Must be bondable.
